Pipe fitter
As a pipe fitter you work independently to replace, expand or maintain various pipework. By using your knowledge, expertise and the required industry certificates, you can master these challenges and your responsibilities lie in successfully completing your assignments. you are deployed as a pipe fitter in the disciplines: (petrochemical) industry, shipbuilding, boiler rooms, utility or chemistry (service, maintenance, renovation and new construction).
You are often involved with various diameter pipes of different material types (measuring, manufacturing and mounting). Welding, grinding and fitting are mainly done in the workshop.
Job requirements
- A completed mechanical engineering education
- extensive and demonstrable experience as a pipe fitter
- certificates such as Flange connections, aerial platform and IS006 are an advantage
- Knowledge of thick and thin-walled (stainless steel) pipe, welding and tinkering
- An eye for detail, safety and quality
- Driving License B
- VCA basic certificate
